Vote Again!
Today you can cast another vote! And not only can
you vote early, you can vote often -- three times, in fact.
Consumer's Union needs your votes for the best
cartoons in their “Dangers of Debt” contest, in which
young Americans depict their struggle with cards, student
loans and more. The top vote getter wins a cash prize and
their cartoon will be used to illustrate Consumer's Union
campaigns.
Check out the cartoons and cast your vote for the top
three.
Young adults from across the nation portrayed how their
generation is dealing with the current debt crisis, made worse
by massive student loans, multiple credit cards and spiraling
interest rates.
Their artwork illustrates how credit card companies
and student loan lenders prowl for youthful customers to
increase their profits.
One recent survey found a quarter of graduates
leave college with $5,000 in credit card debt.
Student loan debt has doubled in the past decade, with the
average graduate carrying a $19,200 school bill.
The next generation needs to learn how to avoid this debt,
which is Consumer Union's ultimate goal. By voting, and
forwarding the contestants' efforts to others, you can help
educate everyone about the dangers of easy credit.
Help them by voting for your favorite cartoons.
And after you vote,
please forward this on to friends and family so they can
see what these young people have done and vote for their own
favorites. |
